Event Details:

The Democracy and Human Rights Foundation will host a discussion focusing on Congress’ H.R.1228 - The Libya Stabilization Act. The legislation focuses on Libya’s upcoming elections in December of 2021, which face a number of critical challenges as the country seeks to form a unified government as conflict still grips portions of the country. In addition, the Libya Stabilization Act seeks to implement sanctions against certain persons seen to be driving the conflict, in order to pressure parties to come together and support the democratic initiatives in the country. Mr. Emadeddin Muntasser, President of the Democracy and Human Rights Foundation, will present key suggestions and strategies to advance the H.R. 1228’s goals and provide the basis for free and fair elections.
